HABC L3 Award in First Aid at Work
Who should attend?
This qualification is aimed at learners who wish to become first-aiders in the workplace. This qualification meets the requirements for training emergency first-aiders in those organisations that have identified that staff need to be trained to this level within their first-aid needs assessment.
Topics covered:
- The role and responsibilities of a first-aider
- Being able to manage an unresponsive casualty who is not breathing normally
- Being able to manage a casualty with external bleeding, being able to manage a casualty with a minor injury
- Being able to conduct a secondary survey
- Being able to administer first aid to a casualty with suspected head and spinal injuries
- Being able to administer first aid to a casualty with anaphylaxis.
Assesment method:
This qualification is assessed by a practical demonstration and written/oral questioning.
Duration:
To complete this qualification learners should expect to undertake 24 hours of learning, with a minimum contact time, excluding breaks of 18 hours over 3 days.
