Site Safety Plus (SSP) is a package of health and safety training courses aimed at assisting construction industry specialists in improving their on-site skills. Each course is tailored to a different role in the building, civil engineering, and allied sectors.

All construction sites require comprehensive Site Safety Plus training to protect employees from harm. CITB Site Safety Plus courses guarantee that you have the skills to identify hazards and prevent injuries.

With so many courses accessible at various levels, your whole workforce can be trained under Site Safety Plus. It might be difficult to pick the best CITB course for each employee, so we’ve made it simple for you.

To make Site Safety Plus more accessible, all of our courses may be completed remotely at your location. This reduces your expenses while also making it more convenient to qualify your workforce.

CITB Health & Safety Awareness (HSA)

The Health and Safety Awareness course is an excellent starting point for those just entering the construction sector. It will be especially beneficial to workers and others who are relatively new to working on-site, like labourers.

Delegates who need to gain the Green ‘Labourer’ CSCS card (formerly the CSO Construction Site Operative card) must complete this course (alongside alternatives). Before a CSCS Green card is given, these delegates will also have to pass the CITB Health, Safety & Environment (HS&E) test.

You can find more details about our 1-day CITB HSA course here.

CITB Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS)

The Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS) is designed for those in a supervisor role. Anyone in a leadership capacity who manages staff, delegates responsibility, and has a hands-on role in the workforce should attend this training course.

Supervisors get a deeper understanding of why rules exist and their assignment to employees during the training. It also ensures that all personnel working on-site are aware of these regulations, ensuring that the site is as safe as possible.

TUTS Training can also arrange the SSSTS Refresher course for you.

CITB Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS)

The Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) is a more advanced version of the SSSTS course. This covers the growing demand for extensive health and safety management on-site and how to meet these standards.

CITB SMSTS is perfect for those in roles that oversee the day-to-day on-site operations, recruit team members and manage on-site set-up. It’s a five-day program that teaches project managers, site managers, supervisors, business owners, and client-based workers about the fundamentals of construction employee safety.

Having the SEATS qualification will be highly beneficial to your workers since making construction sites more environmentally friendly is becoming increasingly important.

This Site Safety Plus course is beneficial for a variety of on-site roles including; those involved in construction planning of temporary works, H&S professionals, those who are new to the construction industry, overseas contractors, principal designers, and salespersons from equipment or plant suppliers.

This course improves understanding of the roles of everyone on site and the code of best practice. It also gives a deeper understanding of risk assessments and how to manage the temporary works process.

CITB Tunnelling Safety Training Scheme (TSTS)

The Tunnelling Safety Training Scheme (TSTS) course is the new industry agreed solution for anyone working in a tunnel under construction. This one-day program is designed to help those wishing to improve their knowledge of the safety requirements when working in the tunnelling industry.

This qualification replaces the Tunnel Safety Card (TSC), Underground Safety Passport (USP) and CITB HS&E specialist tunnelling test. If your workforce has one of these cards and it has expired, they will need to take this course.
